This is the mission of Midway Fire and Rescue and it is what they strive to do everyday for the citizens of the Midway community.
The Midway fire protection district covers approximately 28 square miles and has a population of approximately 10,000 residents. The make-up of the district is very diverse and presents all types of fire hazards. The district consists of mainly residential structures but we have a large commercial, industrial, and institutional presence as well.
Currently the department consists of a combination career (paid) staff and volunteer fire-fighters that work side-by-side to help the community. There is currently a career chief and nine career fire-fighters/officers working on three rotating shifts to provide protection 24/7 for the fire protection district.
